Safety is first at Norfolk Southern. It comes first in our corporate vision: Be the safest, most customer-focused and successful transportation company in the world.
"Communities are being built close to our property in areas that haven't had residential or commercial activity previously. Many people are completely unfamiliar with trains and railroad operations. For some, it may be the first time they've seen a train. They don't think of the terrible risk they're taking when they enter our property, an action that can end in tragedy," Steve Hanes, Director NS Police.
Because the railroad's right-of-way can be a dangerous place without safety training, it is very important to NS that proper precautions are taken before allowing anyone on our property.
